Hazaria Mahadev (Pani Dharamsala)Mandir

Pani ki Dharamshala Jhansi

Jhansi, located in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, is not only known for its valorous history but also for its rich religious heritage. Among its ancient temples, the Panchayati Shiv Mandir, also known as Hajari Mahadev Mandir, holds a unique place. This temple is famous for its distinctive belief that when the temple is closed at night, Lord Shiva sits in a divine council (Panchayat) with other deities in the temple premises. The temple houses a massive Shivling which is special because it contains 1000 miniature Shivlings carved within it. Due to this, devotees believe that offering water to this single Shivling is equivalent to worshipping 1000 Shivlings. This unique aspect attracts numerous devotees who wish to multiply their blessings with a single ritual. Another special feature is the Panchayat of deities present here. Along with Lord Shiva, Lord Surya, Goddess Durga, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Ganesha are also enshrined, symbolizing a divine council that listens to the devotees’ wishes. Devotees follow a special ritual of performing a Havan (sacred fire ritual) and then request the divine Panchayat to fulfill their desires. This rare tradition and the presence of the 1000 Shivlings make the temple a remarkable spiritual destination in Jhansi.
